Literally breaking news - Arkansas Razorbacks coach Bobby Petrino fired today following behavior the university deemed reckless.
On April 1st, Petrino was involved in a motorcycle accident that turned out to be much more than that. After the story broke that there was an additional passenger on the motorcycle when the crash happened, a police report was released, showing that 25-year-old University of Arkansas employee, Jessica Dorrell, was riding with him. He also admitted to what he termed a previous "inappropriate relationship" with Dorrell.

What we now know goes even further. Petrino was responsible for hiring Dorrell, mislead the university about their relationship, and even gave $20,000 to this woman, without disclosing the purpose.
Sources tell ESPN's SEC blogger Chris Low that assistant head coach Taver Johnson, who was filling in while Petrino was on leave during the investigation, will continue coaching the program.
This isn't Petrino's first hairy departure. Atlanta Falcons' fans may remember him as the shortest tenure coach in the franchise's history. And he left that job for the job he just lost today. The ESPN article ends with describing Petrino in that move as "carrying with him a vagabond image after holding 15 jobs for 11 different programs/organizations in 24 seasons."
My take? It was the right decision to fire him. He deliberately mislead the university administration both in public and private as to the true nature of his relationship with another employee. Additionally, he showed favoritism in hiring her in the first place. At that point, how can they trust their football program with him?
